After Little Peng's wings were injured, they hung limply, devoid of strength. Fortunately, it had already reached the third-tier as a Demonic Beast, allowing it to continue flying in the air even without wings.

At this moment, it could only once again summon the damaged lifebound feather it had just used to fend off the enemy.

Xing Zhuo, frustrated by his earlier failed attempt to slay Little Peng with a single strike, prepared to harness his remaining Spiritual Power for another attempt.

However, Wang Hong unleashed three second-tier Talismans in rapid succession, sending them hurtling toward Xing Zhuo. The explosive force created fluctuating waves of energy around him.

Before the power of these three Talismans could dissipate, another three followed, and then yet another three.

This relentless barrage of three Talismans at a time made it impossible for Xing Zhuo to unleash his previous powerful move.

Under this continuous assault, Xing Zhuo's internal Spiritual Power dwindled rapidly, and gradually, even his Protective Sword Aura surrounding his body became unsustainable.

At this moment, Xing Zhuo realized that there was no hope of defeating Wang Hong this time. He retracted his Flying Sword and prepared to make his escape.

But having come this far in their battle, Wang Hong was not about to let him leave willingly. In an instant, he cast a large net.

Xing Zhuo hadn't had a chance to flee before he found himself ensnared within the net.

Once his opponent was caught in the net, Wang Hong retrieved an ancient Magic weapon he had acquired long ago, a chilling blade, and began infusing it with an overwhelming amount of Spiritual Power.

Activating a Magic weapon with Foundation Building cultivation level was exceedingly difficult, nearly an impossible task. Wang Hong resorted to drawing large quantities of Spirit Wine from his Spatial storage and directly channeling it with his Divine Sense into the weapon.

"Hmph! Thinking you can trap me with a mere Spirit net? That's wishful thinking!" Xing Zhuo declared defiantly.

He quickly used his Flying Sword to create an opening in the Spirit net, allowing his head and half of his shoulder to escape.

Just as he was in the midst of cutting through the sturdy Spirit net with his Flying Sword, a chilling light shot towards him. Xing Zhuo hadn't even fully escaped the net when his head was severed and rolled on the ground a few times.

In his final moments, he realized that his opponent had been waiting for him to expose himself, allowing for an easier strike. His earlier confidence had been unfounded.

After slaying Xing Zhuo, Wang Hong wasted no time. He removed Xing Zhuo's Storage Bag and stowed his corpse inside it. He then fed a Jade Marrow Pill to Little Peng, beckoning it into a Spirit Beast pouch. After a quick survey of the battlefield revealed no overlooked items, he swiftly departed the scene.

Half an hour later, a Golden Core cultivator arrived at the battleground where the recent skirmish had occurred. After searching the area, he sighed and said, "I arrived a step too late. I wonder if that fellow disciple of mine already took advantage? If only I hadn't taken the wrong direction, I might not have missed this opportunity."

After finding nothing of value, the cultivator shook his head in disappointment and left.

Once Wang Hong had left the battlefield, he found a secluded spot, opened up a hidden mountain cave, and took refuge inside. He intended to wait until Little Peng had fully recovered from its injuries before resuming his journey.

"Phew, that was a close call. I almost got struck down by his sword earlier!" Little Peng exclaimed as it emerged from the Spirit Beast pouch, still shaken by how close it had come to death.

"Focus on healing quickly. If you want to survive, there will be even more perilous battles ahead," Wang Hong replied, sensing that Little Peng had experienced too few major battles.

After ensuring Little Peng was settled, he took out Xing Zhuo's corpse and Storage Bag, conducting a thorough search of his belongings.

Indeed, as expected of a Golden Core cultivator from a major sect, he was considerably wealthy compared to the average Demonic Beast.

Xing Zhuo's Daoist Robe was a Spiritual Weapon, possessing the ability to resist both water and fire. It also had formations that enhanced the wearer's elegance and charm. Wang Hong had a feeling that this Daoist Robe could fetch a good price.

After stowing away the Daoist Robe, he set a fire and burned Xing Zhuo's corpse to ashes.

As he emptied the contents of Xing Zhuo's Storage Bag, he realized that the items inside were not as abundant as he had hoped. It seemed that Taihao Sect had exhausted most of their supplies during the prolonged conflict, and even a Golden Core cultivator's Storage Bag held limited resources.

Nevertheless, there were still thirty-two middle-grade Spirit Stones and a million low-grade Spirit Stones in the bag. Other items like Spirit Wine and Pills were nowhere to be found. Clearly, Taihao Sect had been in dire straits, explaining their attempted robbery. Unfortunately for them, things hadn't gone their way.

There were several materials from third-tier Demonic Beasts inside, likely the ones Xing Zhuo had slain, as well as a few pieces of Spiritual Weapons.

In addition to these, there were several Jade Scrolls in the Storage Bag. Wang Hong took them out, attempting to read their contents. However, as soon as his Divine Sense touched them, the Jade Scrolls shattered into powder.

He knew that these were likely copies of Jade Scrolls from Taihao Sect, and they had restrictive enchantments that allowed only their owners to read them.

When he reached another Jade Scroll, something unexpected happened. His eyes lit up as the Jade Scroll in his hand remained intact. He began to read its detailed contents, "Heaven and Earth Sword Technique, Qian as Heaven, representing yang, representing male, Kun as Earth, representing yin, representing female..."

After briefly perusing the content, Wang Hong realized that it was a sword technique, and it appeared to be quite profound. However, he had never specialized in sword cultivation, even though he had used a Flying Sword before.

From the description of the "Heaven and Earth Sword Technique," it could be practiced with a minimum of one Flying Sword and a maximum of sixty-four Flying Swords. Judging from Xing Zhuo's situation, he likely had only one Flying Sword due to financial constraints.

Refining a Lifebound Magical Treasure as a Golden Core cultivator was no easy feat. Some cultivators spent decades without successfully refining one. Attempting to refine multiple Magical Weapons simultaneously was even less practical.

Wang Hong stored away the "Heaven and Earth Sword Technique" Scroll and continued searching through the items. However, he couldn't find Xing Zhuo's used Flying Sword; only damaged fragments remained. He recalled reading in some ancient texts that sword cultivators often used unique methods to refine their Lifebound Flying Swords. When a sword cultivator died, their Flying Sword would also suffer damage, which seemed to be the case here.

Apart from this, he found various materials for refining tools, including both second-tier and third-tier materials.

After organizing and storing these items, he began to recover his strength.

Two months later, Wang Hong and Little Peng finally returned safely to the Mountain Valley.

During his absence, nothing major had occurred in the Mountain Valley. The main force of the Demonic Beasts had moved south, so the density of Demonic Beasts in their region remained low. In this vast area, the relatively small number of Demonic Beasts posed no immediate threat to their Mountain Valley. After all, this place was considered a deathtrap in the eyes of Demonic Beasts, and with their increased territorial control, there was no need to venture into the Mountain Valley and seek their own demise.

Wang Hong keenly felt the inadequacy of his own strength after this solitary journey. Upon his return to the Mountain Valley, he immediately went into seclusion to further enhance his cultivation.
