Grab the backing track! Next month backing tracks will be for 5 dollar tier and up, so grab them while you can!

First Wednesday of the month is "Baritone Wednesday" if you are learning how to play the Baritone Ukulele make sure you check out the baritone playlist!   This song is a blues in B minor that is completely straight forward for the first 8 bars, the turnaround though gets very interesting as BB pulls in elements of jazz music as well. In addition to walking you through the chords and this very cool sparse open rhythm that is great for jamming with other people, soloing over, great for learning to play other instruments with like the bass or the drums (that is me on the bass in the background! Rhythm guitar, too, but that is less exciting) After all that I am going to show you how to play the intro solo. There are three solos in the song, the introduction 12 bar, a solo in the middle of the song and the lastly there is a longer 24 bar solo at the end that serves as the coda. For this lessons I am teaching you how to play the intro solo.

  • To tranpose this to B minor simply add 2 to every single tab, so if the tab says the number 3, play 5, if it says 8 play 10, do this for every single note in all 5 shapes and you have all 5 shapes of the B minor pentatonic.

Deborah Tolar

Back in the late seventies and early 80s, I used to occasionally cocktail waitress at a large club called Antones on sixth street in Austin, Texas. Got to see all the blues folk including BB several times. Loved it!
