Harmony is one of the three elements of music, the other two are melody and rhythm. We have spent a lot of time breaking down how rhythm works and we have done quite a bit teaching to explain how melody works, but nothing to really touch on harmony. So today we are going to have an open dialogue on the couch to explain exactly how harmony works. What I would really love is if you could take this to the next level by taking a melody you are familiar with and looking at how it moves through the chords, what chord tones are used, how it moves, what notes ring out long and everything.
