Today we are going to learn how to play "People Are Strange" by The Doors. This song is one of my favorite from their catalog and I didn't realize that it was written and recorded in 1967, that is pretty progressive in terms of the classic rock scene with other bands like Hendrix peaking two years later and Led Zeppelin not hitting the scene until the 70s. The song can be played as an easier strummer version of the song which we will teach you as well as breaking down the chorus and the melody for each section as well, so you can use that to practice singing, rhythm, learning to play or even test your arranging skills and see if you can rock out with your own chord melody!

Will Improve

  • Changing chords on the &
  • Fingerpicking
  • Walking bass
  • Holding long rests
  • Use of dissonance with half steps
  • Playing melody in the key of E minor
