Today's lesson is the 1999 song from pop punk powerhouse Blink 182. The music video pokes fun at all the boy bands having success at that time by making parodies of their popular videos, 98 Degrees, N'Sync, Backstreet Boys... and I think that is it? The song is only 3 chords with a fun intro so it can be an easy beginner song. To make the tutorial complete I went ahead and taught the melody as well so you can know exactly how to sing it as the song is way out of my vocal range and very hard for me to sing I wanted you to know the exact melody so hopefully you could sing it better. When I was jamming it around the house to get ready for this video I was singing it a full octave below what the band is singing. They are also playing the song with power chords and using all down strokes, which if you want to get closer to the original you can absolutely do, but I don't think it sounds that great to do so when you are playing an acoustic cover so I played it with the full harmony and a down up strum pattern, ultimately it is up to you!

Trying something new, there are two uploads, the first is the usual PDF file that is the full breakdown and the second is just the lyrics, one two pages, making it easier to sing.

Will Improve

  • Not singing on the 1st beat
  • Saying Na-na na-na na-na na na
  • Power Chords
  • The scratch strum
  • Playing at a fast BPM (150 plus)

Adam's Song - Blink 182 - Ukulele Tutorial with riffs, play-along and tabs

New Ukulele every Wednesday and Saturday, susbcribe and learn! Today we are going to learn how to play "Adam' Song" by Blink 182 on the Ukulele. A classic 90s pop punk group, Blink 182 often covered funny and light hearted topics to fast intense bass lines and guitar riffs all glued together by the famous drumming over the famous drummer over the 90s, Travis Baker. This song is a big U turn from that style into a much darker and more serious topic, suicide, but despite the dark tones of the song it is actually meant to be a song of hope and inspiration and the person who is narrating the story doesn't kill themselves and decides to live on and keep fighting, despite his saddness. This song has an intro riff, pre-chorus riff, verse, chorus and interlude with another little vamp riff. We will break down all the pieces with all the tabs on the screen to help you learn and at the end a full play-along. Let's see you play it! https://www.instagram.com/tenthumbspro/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/tenthumbspro...
