Today we are going to learn how to play Tuesday's Gone by Lynyrd Skynyrd on the Ukulele. At its core this song is a very simple tune. It has a basic strum pattern throughout the entire song, even if the time signature might be something you aren't used to, you'll be able to get the strum pattern fairly easily. The intro and verse have the same progression, all easy chords with the exception of the E chord, but you can sub it with the E7 chord, which is what we will do throughout the lesson making it music easier. If you prefer the E chord and you can play it, feel free to use the triad. The chorus is also all beginner chords and the same easy strum pattern, so we are going to teach you the base there so you can sing along and have fun with it. After that we will also teach you the epic intro lead, I am not quite sure if it is a riff or solo, but we will break it down note for note with all the bends and everything and we will play it on the electric ukulele. You don't need an electric to follow along, you can play the lead piece with any ukulele that you would like, If you play with the Low-G you will get all the notes perfect, and the high G will sound fine but there will be one note that is an octave higher.

Will Improve

  • Sus2 arpeggio
  • Arpeggio for rhythm
  • 2 beat fills
  • Bends (bend and release technique)
  • Using borrowed chords
  • E major (if you want to)
