Today we are playing some blues in the key of C inspired by the great Stevie Ray Vaughn. We are playing in the key of C, meaning that most of what we are doing comes from the C blues scale, which is the C minor pentatonic scale with adding the flat 5th interval on top. This interval is just a passing tone that adds blues flavor, but you can play just the C minor pentatonic scale and it will sound great. The 5 licks are all pulled from phrasing that SRV does in his actually playing, making them not the easiest, but we break them down note by note as always then play them over a backing track at 60 BPM. To make these things work you have to play them in time, so take your time with each phrase, each triplet, and make sure that you can stay in the pocket.
