One of the most important aspects of blues is the timing. Swing time, 6/8, triplets, at the core of all of is the triplet and today we are going to break down exactly what that means and how to use it. We are going to hammer home the concept with double stops that you can use as fills.

The lesson will at first walk you through what a double stop is, look at a basic but dissonant double stop built on the b5th and then show you how to use it with quarter tones, then how to transform it into 8ths as well. After we will introduce the triplet, playing 3 notes over a 1/4 beat. STRAW-BER-RY is a great way to help you learn to play triplets, listen to your favorite song and count out the quarter notes, where you stomp your hands and clap your feet and saw STRAW-BER-RY STRAW-BER-RY STRAW-BER-RY STRAW-BER-RY over the beats, seriously, it helps!

my tikeaway from this lesson: when adding vibrato to plucking a chord or a doublestop, no need to do it on all strings, one works just fine! :D I know that's not what the video was about :p
