What makes a G7? When learning you probably think it is the shape, but it isn't, it is actually the notes G B D F, and you can play these four notes in shapes all around the fretboards. Another cool tidbit, they are all interchangeable, you can play any G7 in place of any G7, and while they have a slightly different feel, the will all support melody and harmonize the exact same way.
This lesson will be the most transferable to playing outside the blues instantly, you can apply all these ideas to all chords and improve your playing in seconds. You can add interest your chord progressions, you can improve your playing as the second player, the only really limit is your creativity.
