Getting the blues challenge started with a basic blues strummer in the key of G! The foundation of every 12 bare blues starts with an understanding of how to strum through it, this gives us the base of the 12 bar and it starts to internalize the changes. Later we will add all the hot sauce and fun stuff.

Super Easy Beginner 12 Bar Blues in G with Quickturnaround - Day 1 - #TenThumbsBluesChallenge

Day 1 of our #TenThumbsBluesChallenge and we are rocking an easy strummer in G to get things started. This will serve as the foundation of everything we do this month so make sure you get it down solid. Everything we do moving forward will add to this, vary it, give it life and swagger! Really everyone should be able to strum through a 12 bar in a couple of keys as a good blues is the foundation of many jams and the basis of making music with others all across the world. #TenThumbsBluesChallenge is back! Hi Tyler sorry but why don't you do it with G7 - D7 - E7 instead of GCD? Isn't it supposed to be I IV V in the blues 12 bars?

Tyler Austenfeld

Good question and you are right about the I IV V, and that is the G. G is I, C is IV and the D is V. The E is the six chord actually.

Melanie Parker-Gagné

I’m choosing this one to work on. Thank you Tyler and community! 👍🍀🫰🤍
