Half way through the challenge! You are doing great! Today we are going to put everything that we have done so far into a song that I wrote Friday morning. It is a basic little melody that follows a fun motif, sometimes songs seem to put themselves together as was the case for this one because I basically improvised an 8 bar melody and by the time I was done the song was done. I love it when that happens!

The song touches all the bases on everything we have done so far, the process that I used to harmonize the chords, all the harmony, the thumbs strum, the G string as a tool of melody, the string as a tool of harmony, knowing your roots and applying those roots to harmonize our melody. We are also going to add something called a "motif" which is melodic idea that repeats itself over and over to give the song a sense of cohesion. All in all this is a pretty melody that is fun and easy to play!

Will improve

Thumb strum

Use of the reentrant G string

Hey Tyler! I think I missed something. The 2322 strum when you do it on the vid you are not fingering it as such. ???
