Today we are going to learn how to play "Walkin' After Midnight" by Patsy Cline on the Ukulele. We are trying something new today and we have included the tabs for the melody as well. By learning the melody you will be able to play this song with friends in a duet style if you want to, you can also learn the melody as well to help you to learn to sing it the same as Patsy. One of the best ways to improve your singing for a song is to learn how to play the melody for the song.

With time stamps in the comment you can see all the pieces to the song. It has an intro riff, verse and bridge and a coda. We will teach you each part in depth, including the melody, and at the end we will put it all together so you can see how can you play this whole song.

Theory wise Patsy does some really cool things outside of the diatonic scale, primarily a lot of the minor 3rd. She sings the Eb quite a bit, so the F chord, the 4 chord, gets pushed to a dominant F7 instead of Fmaj7 to accommodate for the minor 3rd, giving it a really cool, soulful, melancholy blues vibe.

Thank you very much! I was really excited to see that they worked in the PDF. I learned guitar on youtube and I often felt that I had to learn the whole lesson or I wouldn't be able to pick it up half way through because of the lack of supporting information, this really lets learners go at their own pace and practice pieces and sections that might need more attention much more efficiently. I am very happy with it as well! Thanks for taking the time to say thanks :)
