John Frusciante is a legend and his slide work is fantastic as well. It is slow and melodic, and fun to play so we will not only break down how to play the iconic intro solo, how to strum through the song and sing it, we will also help you with the solos as well. This song would sound great if you played it with another person as well.

Today we are going to learn how to play Scar Tissue by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. This song, at its base, can be kind of an easy song. If you were to just strum through it and sing it you could get away with just playing an F chord and a D minor, that would be the very very basic base of the tune if you wanted something for the campfire. We will build it up after that by adding the intro, you could still do a pretty basic version at that point.

But then comes the hot sauce. We will walk you through how to modify the intro and change it up for the verse, the rhythm for the interlude, the first solo, and the last solo, and we will also go through the lead parts for the interlude with a backing track, the first solo lead part with the backing track and the slide as well and the outro solo as well. Even the outro solo is something that is really tricky to play on the Ukulele, because it goes all the way up to the 17th fret, we wanted to tab it out and work it out for you so you could play that as well if you want.
