Today we are exploring the song "Heart of Gold" by Neil Young in the chord melody style. The highest note that I can sing comfortably is C#, sometimes D, and although I can hit that high E note it always sounds uncomfortable and like I am screaming, Neil however had no problem hitting that high E, and he did so with grace, so instead of screaming my head off I thought, hey, lets do it with a chord melody!

This song is full of cool stuff, the melody is mostly chord tones, showing off the power of simply singing the notes in the chords, there is a nice leap from the G note to the high E which sounds great on the Ukulele, plus a 6 bar verse! Very unique in the song writing world as things are usually divisible by four.

I APPRECIATE you man. I know you don’t need it to carry on but why Kala hasn’t made you a Kala brand artist is beyond me.

I just love that tenor so much but the minute I found a tenor that I feel is comparable I am going to go with another label. Kala makes good instruments but my personal dealings with them have been less the impressive.

I love this arrangement! Chord melody is amazing and I am so glad to be part of your and Ms. B's ukulele community! Plus your photos are hilarious! Thank you Tyler!
