Today we are going to learn how to play a classic minor blues from Gary Clark Jr. with a tasty riff that we are playing over the E minor. The riff plays over 1 bar of E minor and it just repeats itself as many times as you want it to over the E minor. We will walk you through the riff first, second we will look at the 12 bar progression, then we we will add the strum pattern and after we do that we will apply that to a play-along to show you how it connects with the lyrics and at that point we can put all the pieces together.

Looking at the tab for the riff and there's an open A on the 4 beat whereas in the video it's closed at the 7th fret .Also, hammer ons from the 5th to 7th is hard.

The hammer ons are hard but they really sell the groove. Here is some extra help for the hammer on. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fJeIHTWLd5s It should be closed at the 7th fret because that is the E note and we are riffing in E minor.
