Thank you to PJ for making this one happen! Patreon sponosred super shred. We are breaking down how to play "Get Back" by the Beatles.

I broke down Harrison's part, which is most of what the song sheet is. You can consolote that for the strum patter and progressions, the G D smash varies throughout the song, in some verses, solos and choruses, consulte the song sheet to see exactly where. All this together would make what I could consdier to be a beginner version, if you can't do the mute just replace it with a down strum and you have an easy three chord A, D, G song.

After that we will break down how to play Lennon's part. We will start with the shuffle, which is a complementary rhytgm section to what George is playing and would sound great as the second ukulele playing with a friend. At the chorus it gets really interesting with some crazy arpeggios. The timing is tricky but once you get it they sound great and even better with a friend. We also take a look at a country style lick Lennon plays over the A chord and how to tranpose it.

Lastly we touch the first solo, which is a lot like the second solo and fairly easy to play. I had to tranpose the second phrase up an octave but it still shreds.

Happy jamming and thanks PJ!

Get Back Play - The Beatles - Ukulele tutorial with solo and tabs

New Ukulele Tutorials every Wednesday and Saturday Today we are going to learn how to play "Get Back" by The Beatles on the Ukulele. We are going shred the tune from front to back. At first we will start with George Harrison's take on it and do a basic strummer version with the intro, verse and chorus, everything you need to play the song. If you are a true beginner you can jam the whole tune out like this and you'll have a lot of fun playing it. Then we are going to add John Lennon's guitar part, this is where it gets really interesting. He plays a blues shuffle throughout the verse and intro, nothing to fancy but it sounds great as the second ukulele, after that we are going to layer it up in the chorus with really crazy arpeggios and a 1/16th note strumming that really gives it some movement. John also has a hot country lick that makes a great fill that you can play over the A chord that we will walk through and lastly we are going to take a look at his first solo, jam it out note for note and phrase for phrase, so if you are playing with a friend that has nailed the Harrison part you can shred on top of it with this solo. Thank you so much for watching and learning with us, think about becoming a Patreon if you want to print out the tabs and really jam out with a friend and until next time, happy strumming and enjoy the Get Back tutorial by the Beatles. Until next time!

ha! It's so good to try to follow someone else's instructions. My brain goes. What?! Now I know what it's like for the people I play with when I say, 'oh, how about like this'... Bringing empathy into the world. Ta.
