Hey everybody! Happy New Years! Just got back from a little family trip to celebrate the new year and I am feeling pumped for the next set of challenges! First I want to know what are your new goals musically for the new year? Comment below.

Before we fully jump into a preview of 2019 and some other cool stuff I just want to say thank you for 2018. It is all of you that make this thing possible. I hope you are having as much fun learning as I am teaching.

Monthly Giveaways

We will be giving away prizes monthly including T-Shirts and Skype lessons. This will follow a particular challenge but I won't be picking based on talent, but rather based on a number system like we did with the give away on Christmas day.

Next you vote 2 dollar Patreon lessons

We will be doing a you vote for Saturday the 12th and the 19th. With Christmas last month and all the family and travel obligations I had going last month we didn't get to do one, so we will do two! 

10 Dollar Live lessons

Thursday the 10th at 8pm EST we will be doing our next 10 dollar live lessons. 10 dollar patreons feel free to write me or comment below for some ideas. This ones are made just for you!

My Musical Resolutions

I am going to teach myself how to sing and play piano this year. Maybe I should be getting professional lessons, but I want to see if I can teach myself something I don't know how to do. I am going to play 30 minutes a day, every weekday that I am not traveling, and try and tape and upload my progress to keep you motivated with your practice as well. 

Future Mini-Courses

Another new feature is going to be Friday mini lessons, these lessons will be short and sweet and connect into a 4 part mini series for the month. For example 4 part fingerpicking, 4 part soloing, 4 part song writing, 4 part two chord challenge, etc. Januarys will be 3 lessons starting on Friday the 11th. Let me know what kind of mini courses you want to see! 

Summer tour

Anybody that has a connection with an Ukulele group or festival let me know, I would like to organize a summer tour this year and come and jam with everyone!

Bird hug... I began ukulele and playing music this time last year. My goal for 2019 is to be able to sing and strum at the same time. I can sing songs by themselves, and play songs by themselves, but when it comes to putting them together, I really struggle with one or the other. I can get right, if I practice a ton. I have no desire to hit particular notes, or sing in key because I play/practice by myself anyway, and my biggest audience will be family. I'd just like to be able to play and sing my favorite songs. Thank you for the great learning opportunities, I really enjoy your lessons.

Cool! I want to work on finger picking and soloing. And also play at least 15 minutes a day. More time is allowed of course 🙂

Thank you so much for the comment friend, playing for the family and playing your favorite songs is a lot of fun. Have you seen our video on singing and playing at the same time? It is all about the concept call "keywords" to help. Or knowing which words happen over which changes, that helped me a ton when I was learning.
