How to Record an Ukulele at Home - Ukulele Tutorial

New Ukulele Tutorials every Wednesday and Saturday, subscribe and learn! Today we are going to be looking at how to record an Ukulele in your home, there are essentially two ways to do this. One way to record an Ukulele at home is with DI, or direct injection, which is plugging your Ukulele directly into an audio interface that plugs into your computer and you record the signal that way. The other way to record an Ukulele in your home is by recording your Ukulele with a mic, this is the method that is used when you don't have an Ukulele that can plug in directly. We will do a little bonus on how to record an Ukulele at home with this tutorial by also showing you a basic setup to record an amplifier. So that way in this Ukulele tutorial you will have all the tools that you need to know how to record at home. To record with DI you will need An Ukulele that has a pickup An audio interface 1/8" Cables DAW (this is Digital Audio Workstation, that can be Garageband, Reason, Ableton, ProTools, etc) To record with a mic you'll need Ukulele Microphone Micstand XLR cables Audio interface DAW You can do with same with adding an amp as well to get that nice electric crunchy sound. I learned ProTools "backward" because I worked in Audiobooks and I've used it a ton, but never for music! :) Gotta get myself a copy for home and try it out for ukulele one of these days.
