So, when we discussed the new changes to our TØP fridays and we decided on some latin tunes, a lot of people said more blues (and chord melody) because that is what makes Tenthumbs a little more unique and different in our teaching. I heard you all and I wanted to incorporate more of that into our lessons, so today we are getting bluesy. 

This will be a new series I want to start, Blues licks in the style of.... and the first group of licks belong to Grateful Dead. The PDF goes into more of a break down, remember you are in D so jam them with a friend! Also, let me know, who else would you like to breakdown for some jamming?

How to Solo on Ukulele - Grateful Dead Style Blues Licks Today we are going to try something different. We are going to learn how to solo a little more, but we are going to create blues licks in the style of the grateful dead. That way we can look at some grateful dead solo and licks and learn how to apply them to our own jamming and soloing, so we can play blues ukulele like Jerry Garcia and Bob Weir. Each idea is broken down note for not with tabs and explained how and why it works, so even a beginner learning to solo and learn how to jam blues solos on their ukulele.
