This is an especially unfortunate time for the Filoni-verse as we just lost Carl Weathers. And the response from all his co-workers has honestly seemed to go beyond even the usual outpouring at a celebrity death, approaching Robin Williams levels at just how universally beloved he was. One day we’ll tell our descendants that giants like him once walked the Earth. And as for what this means for The Mandalorian, Greef Karga is in a much more natural endpoint than Baylan, and my greatest hope is they just leave him to his happy ending offscreen rather than killing him or recasting. And I’m very much not looking forward to the parade of idiots who are now going to be acting like the crew knew he was going to die and should have given him a better final appearance, just like we’ve seen for Chadwick Boseman, Ray Stevenson, and Kevin Conroy. I’m off to lose myself in Arrested Development now and brush up on how to make stew. He would have wanted it that way,

Yeah, Carl was one of the best. I was most saddened to hear of his death. I am taking comfort that Greef’s arc does have a he lived happily end when last we saw him. I hear what you’re saying on hoping that there is no Darrining or killing Greef off. My one thought is that if the writers are set on killing Greef, then I would ask to just have Carl’s death of dying in his sleep for Greef. You set up that Teva, or perhaps Boba and Fennec go to Navarro to recruit Mando for help, and Mando has been acting as High Magistrate/helping Greef’s droids with that since Greef peacefully died. Then Teva/Boba and Fennec say they were made aware and that they were sorry to hear about Greef. And before Mando leaves, when everything is settled, he goes to say goodbye to Greef. Again, this is if the writers are planning to kill off Greef, which I’m with you on preferring that they don’t do that.

So good to see Ezra here. The casting was spot on and Eman Esfandi does a great job embodying that character in live action.
