So, it's pretty obvious that what's happening here is new franchise owners Disney hedging their bets that the fans would be willing to hop onto a show filled entirely with new characters, by giving a sizable guest role to two of the OG cast (and I'm sure it also helped that this only involved getting one actor back). But when the result is as fun as this, it's hard to really care about the machinations that made it happen, and I'm just happy it exists.

I'm so glad you're enjoying the show so much! I knew you would! I think we all knew you would which is why people were pushing so hard for it. Thank you for these reactions!

Oooh, was not expecting Rebels tonight! "A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one" as old Palpy would say! Could do with watching this before jumping into the heavier stuff of Last Of Us!! :D

I´m sooo damn happy that you love this show so much! C-3PO is an easy way to win you over, but still! :D Seeing you this invested this early sparks my heart with joy! Thank you, Jess! :)

As you see, the show is still setting the stage and establishing. And it is proving such a blast seeing your joy in this show already. Yes, so lovely the show came right out the gate with C-3PO and R2-D2. I continue to love Anthony Daniels being as delightful as he is as 3PO. In rewatching this episode, you were on my mind the entire time. I loved every part of your reactions to 3PO, Jess, especially when you said, “The King is back. And all is right. In the universe.” I was with you on having a grand time with it. One part that got me particularly giddy was the music, causing me to say, “Oh shit! That's the John Williams motif!” and I was giggling up a storm. It also causes a big laugh when 3PO states that R2 could learn some manners from Chopper, and I quip, “3PO, that’s a fart in a stiff wind, but you have no way of knowing that, so it’s cool.” No worries on my end with any potential 3PO slander, one, because slander is spoken, in print it’s libel, and two because I stand behind your love for 3PO which is, as you say, unwavering and will always be unwavering. Like you observed, you get some hints of heavier subjects such as the backstory of Zeb, (You said it right, don’t worry.” and his people. Always a pleasure to see Bail Organa, and Phil LaMarr continues to be great in his voicework as Bail. The second episode you reacted to, I know most would likely classify it as filler, but it’s so much fun. Who cares if it is filler? Yeah, a big highlight is Zeb and Ezra’s back and forth. They pulled through in helping the people. You said that Sumar’s voice was familiar. He’s voiced by a voice actor by the name of Liam O’Brien. I looked through what he’s been in, and nothing jumped out that I would think you know him from, so I expect it’s a case of the voice sounding like someone else that you know. God, I am LOVING revisiting and sharing this show with you, Jess! Thank you for the most enjoyable reaction!

I said the exact same quote when I saw the reaction was uploaded. Though knowing me, that probably goes without saying.

I like to imagine Anthony kept thinking on this show and Clone Wars “Wow, this is so much easier than clomping around in that suit. Why wasn’t I just doing this the whole time?” I immediately recognized Liam O’Brien as the lead role in the English dub for my favorite anime series, Monster.

That might be true about Anthony. I know there’s the story from Alan Tudyk about his portrayal of K-2. In that Anthony found out K-2 would be motion capture, and jestingly said to Alan, “You shit!” then at the premiere, Alan asked if Anthony had any thoughts or opinions, to which, Anthony, again, jestingly said, “Fuck you.” Alan has said it was one of the best compliments he’s ever gotten; that it was the highest praise.

I thought I'd jump in before you said it hehe! :D Off to watch it now, bet there is screams when R2 and Jess's beloved C-3P0 show up!!

Yes its great to see that loveable duo of R2 and C-3P0 back, and I turned down my headphones as I knew what was coming, so didn't get the full blast! :D 3P0 is such a diva and a dope, but thats why we love him! Whilst R2 gets the spy missions as Bail knows he'll always come through. Tbf if there is one droid that might be able to keep up with R2, it would be Chopper - just you wait! Always funny when Kanan calls Ezra and Zeb "the kids" - especially Zeb, who is 11 years older than Kanan (though he does act like a kid!). Hera and Kanan are the mum and dad, Zeb the bonkers uncle, Sabine and Ezra are the kids, and well Chopper is the irritable and mischevious family cat! :D Almost feel sorry for those stormtroopers going against Zeb, could you imagine going toe-to-toe with a 7 foot, 30 stone muscly tiger man!?! And yes, the fruit episode is quite an infamous one in the fanbase for its silliness, but it does do some character development for the relationship between Zeb and Ezra, and Ezra already learning to be selfless from the crew by rescuing the farmers; showing a bit more of Chopper's chaotic nature, and how much Sabine is into her art; and as the show goes on and we get deeper into the story, we at times will fondly hark back to this episode throughout the more weighty stuff.

3P0 is at his absolute best in the 2003 Clone Wars. He is hilarious in it, and fair play to Anthony Daniels for voicing or acting as him any chance that arises.

I knew Jess screaming at seeing 3PO was coming the second I rewatched the episode. I think that Zeb being the bonkers uncle is perhaps a reason why he’s my favorite, because that would be me. Well, I'm not literally an uncle, neither my brother nor I have kids, but I'd fit in the bonkers uncle role. Sure, the fruit episode’s on the sillier side of things. That's not a bad thing. The show’s still setting things up, establishing aspects about the characters, and it’s honestly nice to have a relatively smaller scale episode to just focus on the characters. And as you note, it’s nice to fall back on following the more dramatic episodes.

While I agree that Kanan and Hera are the parents, to me Zeb is the big brother of Ezra and Sabine is the best friend/crush of Ezra (for me it would be weird if Ezra would hit on and (unsuccessfully) flirt with his „found-sister“ 😅)

Yeah Zeb can pass for a big brother for Ezra and Sabine, but its just a little weird him being called a kid when he is technically (perhaps outside of Chopper) the oldest member of the crew, and I think a big silly uncle fits him too. It wouldn't be the first time in Star Wars brother and sister have a thing! :P
