Hoping that you're doing okay over there Jess. In the UK we're seeing nasty reports of the dismal weather that you're having. Take care Jess. Let's hope for a good and happy new year.

Oh I only drove through a few winter storms the past few days lol I made it though. Thank you for the concern.

We're always on the look out for our friends over there. After all, you've helped some of us through some pretty dark and despairing patches on life's rocky road and we are grateful for your presence! All we can do is send hope and cheer as much as we can in return.

It did get pretty bad where I live in the States. The worst of this recent spell was the day before Christmas Eve. I headed to work, because where I work, they decided, for some reason, they were going to stay open, and the thermometer read negative eight. Frankly it’s astonishing that we had any customers that showed up. Otherwise, the last several days haven’t been unbearable, weather-wise. The temperatures always have a predilection to plummet at or around this time of year anyway, so, I'm always prepared for when it happens. Responding to Jess, I am glad to hear that you made it through the winter storms ok.

In the UK we generally have it pretty mild. We had a heatwave summer and what has seemed like a monsoon ever since! Nothing but rain! It is said that we get afterwards whatever the States has been through. Yikes! Fortunately, I live on the edge of a larger settlement now. My previous family home may have been a tad more difficult for me now. I don't feel like roughing it anymore!

Summer can get oppressively hot where I live, though some years have been tame. The rains fluctuate depending on the year. Some years we get a lot, others not as much. Winter tends to be the most brutal, though I'm pretty much used to it by now. The rain that you say you’ve gotten does not sound fun at all. I don't blame you on not feeling like roughing it anymore.

Well, you get fed up with it as you get older! The old house will get some renovation work done to it now. A bit of a shame though. My family were there for a very long time. When you start getting black mold, alarm bells - the cloister bell - starts ringing!
