Ebon Moss-Bachrach is weirdly getting typecast as a guy dealing with the suicide of someone they were close to, with this and The Bear.

Start with your taking a crack at the names of the group, I think you’re right on all of them. If not, you’re very close, so don’t worry about that. Yeah, this episode was great at further establishing the group that Cassian is with, and really gets you to invest in them. It does feel like the young man, the one played by Alex Lawther who played James in The End of the F***ing World does feel like he’s getting set up to be a sacrificial lamb. Had a small laugh at his scene where he’s sharing his beliefs to Cassian, and said, “Oh, great! We've got a Star Wars equivalent of Mouse from The Matrix! I’ll give this kid points, he’s not chewing Cassian’s ear off whilst having to eat that disgusting slop that was in The Matrix. Nor is he going on some pseudo phycological shpiel comparing said slop to tasty wheat, and thus, leaving you to really want to take the blue pill so you can have a nice steak dinner in peace.” I agree that it was exactly the right call that Cassian made of laying it on the line, truth-wise. I’m continuing to be super invested in Mon Mothma’s storyline. I get the feeling her husband’s is convincing their daughter to be opposed to Mon’s beliefs and causes. And if he’s not deliberately turning his and Mon’s daughter against her mom, he’s definitely not making any real effort to have the two get along. I knew you’d be obsessed with Mon Mothma’s wardrobe, which, yes, is most impressive. Of the new characters introduced in this show, Karn thus far is tied with Luthen for being my favorite of the new characters. Now, when it comes to a grown man living with his mom, I’m in no position to judge. In this scenario, however, as you observed, given how this does not seem the healthiest environment, Karn probably would benefit from looking for somewhere else to stay, though perhaps staying with his mom is really his only viable option. When I first saw the episode, I thought it was such a sad moment when Karn’s mom is pouring him the bowl of futuristic Trix, and then the blue milk for him. Upon some reflection, the idea occurred that perhaps that’s the show’s way of showing how badly shaken he is by what happened in his pursuit of Cassian, that he can’t even do something as simple as fix his morning cereal for breakfast, leaving his own mother to have to do it for him. Alternatively, it shows how much of a controlling Mommie Dearest his mom is. Great reaction to Andor, Jess. I look forward to what’s to come.

Whilst this is a 'slower' episode, its setting things in motion expertly. We get more background on our heist crew, why they are fighting and their distrust of Cassian helping cover up their natural fears; especially when they can see he is clearly capable of doing this, probably far better than any of them. "The axe forgets but the tree remembers" - what a great line, showing the damage the Empire is doing out there across the galaxy, but its such a monstrous machine, it doesn't stop to consider the hate that's developing out there for it. There are still billions of people who support the Empire, and who have vested interests in it, but those who have been hurt, remember that pain and are on the cusp of beginning the fight back. All the characters showing doubts here, even outside our heist crew, with Luthen needing support and knowing that tomorrow will either bring joy or total anarchy. Even the imperial ISB agent who seems to be on the right path, needing her colleague to tell her to keep at it and results will come. Then there is Mon Mothma who feels she doesn't have support in her own family; her hubby looks like an imperial sympathiser, and their daughter definitely siding with him. This makes Mothma feel even more isolated and doubtful whether to go along the course of rebellion soon. And of course we have Syril getting an earful from his mother, and in the end he flicks on the holo of Cassian to show his failure all the more, and will incentivise him to get back on the hunt to capture him. This heist will have a lot of repurcussions.
