Was anyone else hoping Maarva would say to the young Cassian “Congratulations, you are being rescued.”

As I said, I would not have been upset had there been a delay on the reactions for episodes two and three, however, I understand it is one less thing to come back to from your vacation, so I get why you wanted to get these out as soon as possible. And since you said that the reason that we have a reaction to episode three so soon is because you loved the first two episodes so much that you wanted to immediately see episode three, I won’t argue with you on that because I relate. I get what you mean by really loving how we’re focusing on a character such as Cassian. My brother has always loved particularly in the old expanded universe when Star Wars would have books or stories where we would focus on as he calls them, “secular characters” aka non-force affiliated characters. The dynamic between Cassian and Stellan Skarsgård’s character already is great. Stellan is doing a superb job in this. Fiona Shaw, likewise, is bringing a great energy to Maarva. I’m with you on it’s not going to be good for Cassian going forward that he decided to spare as I call him, Deputy Inspector Ferret Face, or as you call him, Mister Officer Buttercup. Before the guy seemed a very overzealous Barney Fife, now he’s probably going to be full blown Javert. The moment where the villagers were making the banging and clanking noise was a scene that really stood out. Reminded me of a scene from the Jules Dassin film, Brute Force. Three episodes in and it’s been most impressive. I am very pleased to see that you’re very much enjoying it. Yeah, it is rotten timing of the vacation coinciding with new episodes. These reactions to the first three episodes are going to go a long way in tiding me over during your vacation. I’m loving that you’re loving Andor thus far. I’m loving it as well, and I'm loving sharing the show with you. I look forward to when you react to the next episodes. Until then, I hope you have a wonderful time on your vacation. Take care, Jess.

I'm loving that the main antagonist of the show is a total loser who can't give an effective speech and gets a bunch of guys killed on a job his boss told him not to do anyway. It seems like he's kind of going to be like Michael Douglas in Falling Down, constantly getting crapped on until he snaps and becomes genuinely dangerous.

Yeah, Michael Douglas in Falling Down is a good comparison.

I really like the character (haven't learnt his name yet), as you can see he is an officious person who believes in strict order, but this is his first time out in the field being a leader, and he's still shy yet. I do think this experience however, will formulate a need for vengeance now and not just 'justice' for his fallen comrades, and I'm keen to see how they'll explore his character; and whether he'll become an imperial. The actor has a very expressible face, and you can see everything he is thinking of and feeling in his scenes without doing much. The sign of a great actor along the lines of Charles Laughton or Ian Holm, who used their eyes to tell you their stories.

Yeah, the actor's been excellent with the conveying of thought and emotion largely through facial expressions, I agree. As you say it's the sign of a great actor like the two gentlemen you mentioned.

I know what you are saying Sesska about that Cassian should kill Syril, but even with the din outside, the coppers would probably still hear and place the shot. He could even kill him in a messier and more silent way, but he's not there yet. The Reckoning didn't fully come for the security squad, though they did lose a lot of men. However this will be too big of an event to keep quiet, and the Empire I think will hear of it, so that they'll come in, take charge of this system and things will go from bad to worse for all. However the populace did show that if a fight is coming, they'll stand up to it. This could be an echo of what is happening in other places in the galaxy, the spark of rebellion. I think Syril will join up with the Empire if they come in now; its what he is looking for, but will he be ready for what exactly that entails? I'm kind of hoping he'll be the Greivous to Obi-Wan for Andor. Always hunting him out, but Cassian will always get away. He might start with Cassian's adopted mother, Maarva though to seek him out, which won't be good.
