Just look how different Rex is since he met Cut ( The Deserter) compared to now. The war is definitely taking its toll on him and the 501st as a whole.

This is a great arc and deals with a big idea in the military. At what point do you turn on your own commander? In the military you follow orders of your superior but If your commander is treasonous, incompetent, giving illegal orders etc you may need to different militarys have different lines. Finding out when that line is crossed is an extremely difficult one without clear answers. Notably I’m pretty sure we never find out what happened to dogma after he got arrested depending on the law he may have been executed for killing a prisoner even though he did what had to be done.

Also I don’t know if it’s been mentioned but I highly recommend you rewatch Star Wars episode III revenge of the sith as soon as you can. It will make your understanding and enjoyment of the clone wars better since part of what makes the show compelling is that we know how tragically it all turns out. More and more the clone wars will start hinting at stuff that we know from revenge of the sith it’s designed with the idea that you have already seen it. So again I would highly encourage you to rewatch it soon at the very least make sure you watch it before season 6 but the sooner the better. Would love it as a reaction but if you can’t then do it on your own again I can’t stress enough how much better it will make your viewing experience of the Cone Wars.

Jess did rewatch Ep1 and Ep2 a number of months ago and has said she'll be watching Ep3 too. Time unknown

Chronologically ROTS takes place during the last four arcs of season 7. The proper way to watch it is watch Season 7 episode 9, then watch ROTS, then return to the Clone wars Season 7 and watch episodes 10-12

Timeline wise yes that is correct but the show was written with the idea that the viewer has already watched episode III and so it makes a lot of episodes hit harder if you can understand what the end results of certain ideas and concepts are leading up too. The show is designed that way especially certain arcs in season 6 and then of course 7. She had mentioned that she had seen episode III years ago but didn’t remember much which is why I’m encouraging her to watch it now

I hope that once you get to it chronologically, you'll also react to Rebels. You get to see what happened to a couple of the clones after the war, among other delightful things. Ahsoka shows up in it too.
