I'm very thankful that not only is the show getting a second season, but they've confirmed it will still be primarily about these characters rather than branching out into more of the League of Legends world. Because this show really did feel like it was for "normies" like me first and foremost, where I never once found myself thinking "Maybe this would make sense if I knew the games," and this shows they're going to continue with that.

For what it's worth, even if you knew the games it's unlikely to change that anyway. You'd maybe see someone and know what abilities they have in the game, but unless you go out of your way to look up lore and stuff, there's very little to them in the game as it's not story based or anything. But there are over 150 'champions' (i.e. Like Jinx, Vi etc, characters you can play in the game), so there are plenty of others to bring in here. Infact some characters in Arcane are also Champions but are not focused on too much.

As I foresaw at the end of the last episode, it felt like all the plotlines would collide into each other this episode resulting in a massive catastrofuck. It is I agree a shining aspect of the show in that you understand everyone's perspectives, desires, and intentions, and everyone’s given equal weight and focus. I think I would end up saying that Silco was probably my favorite. I sincerely doubt that he would have ever given up Jinx. The scenes with Viktor and Jayce were quite heartbreaking. I’d say you’re correct about Jayce in that he’s trying to find the right answer and/or solution when perhaps there is none. I knew that seeing Vander again would get you right in the heart. As I understand it, the centerpiece of the episode and the scene that most people talked about the most was the dinner scene involving Jinx, Vi, Silco, and Caitlyn. I’d say you’re right on the money in that Jinx is trying to figure out exactly who she should be. What was particularly striking to me was the contrast between Vander’s death and Silco’s death. In both cases, Jinx is responsible for the death of a father. Where it differs is the immediate response to it. With Vander’s death, Vi responds, not unreasonably, with anger and almost hatred to the point she struck Powder, called her a Jinx, and walked away. With Silco, he takes his final moments to reassure Jinx, reaffirm his love for her, and says that she is perfect. The result in the latter case is that Jinx in her very fragile mental state latches onto the love and acceptance, and thus cementing her identity as Jinx, possibly permanently. It actually wouldn’t matter if the love and acceptance was either genuine or healthy, though I do believe Silco truly loved Jinx as his daughter, if Jinx’s mental state is that fragile and she’s so desperate for acceptance, she’ll latch onto whatever she feels will achieve that. The ending moment was quite striking. Though it’s far from a positive or happy moment, I love the look on Vi and Caitlyn’s faces as it happens. Like with episode six, you can tell that Vi is seeing Jinx fire the missile, and it looks like she is again hearing the dark voice in her head saying, “Look what you have made.” only this time, it’s much louder and it is accompanied by a second dark voice that is saying to her, “She has become this... because of you. Silco may have seized the opportunity to take her under his wing, but you... you are the one who created the monster she has become.” Worse still, is how this time Vi can’t ignore those thoughts and/or blame Silco for what happened, because she knows that Jinx was right when she accused her of that. For a show that I hadn’t heard of, nor was I familiar with the source material, I got into this show a lot more than I was expecting. Your reactions to this show were quite wonderful, Jess, and I look forward to when season two premieres so that I can continue to share the journey through this show with you.
