I’ve been getting strong Kubrickian and Orwellian vibes from this show, thus far. Last week, you made the comparison to The Americans, my mind goes to the film, Eyes Wide Shut when we see just how well organized these people are when it comes to both the set-up of these games as well as the stratagem employed in covering their tracks. Come this episode, I really have Eyes Wide Shut on the brain with the cop trying to infiltrate and blend in. I’m saying, “Ok, he knows that the password is Fidelio and that’ll get him through the door, but these guys seem way too organized for him to get very far.” I’m loving the color schemes of the place. A touch loud, perhaps, but it’s tasteful without being gaudy. I’m also quite enjoying the dynamic between the two ladies and am loving the chaotic energy of their scenes. So, when you mentioned that you were semi spoiled about the challenge of this episode, specifically you mentioned about the cookie, I racked my brain some and thought, “Don’t know if I recall anybody at work saying anything about a cookie.” Mind you, I wasn’t actively listening to much of the discussions about this show at work, still, on occasion you do overhear bits and pieces, from time to time. I’ve been having trouble catching the names of the characters as well. I don’t want to look anything up because I’m worried that I’ll stumble upon spoilers. I see the above comment listing the names and that helps. How to pronounce some of them is a separate issue. I apologize if that sounds ignorant. I hear you on the matter of needing coffee in the morning and it being a completely distressing idea of not being allowed coffee in the morning. When you mentioned that you would feel the effects of coffee withdrawal after four hours, I had a small laugh at my own expense thinking that I’d be feeling it after two hours, probably less time than that. My interest in this show is slowly but steadily growing, and I am interested in seeing more.
