So the classic criticism of classic Who is that many stories that should have been 4 parts were 6 etc. And that the way you can tell is unnecessary running around and being captured, released/escaping, re-captured etc. Well this certainly fits that bill :) That said I do like a lot about these first two parts - the world building, both in terms of what's said but the sets, the models, the costumes etc. It's all quite fun. I also like how proactive Jo is. I like the way the plot is set up around inter-galactic politics and an impending war. The idea of a trigger that causes the opposing sides to get misled about what they're seeing is good too although I do wish they'd chosen a less ear-piercing sound.
