Nail on the head re that last scene between Dean and Zach. While it is nice to see Dean accept that he has a calling (although without specific knowledge of his current circumstances), it is clear Zach gives no shits. He is not doing this for Dean’s benefit, he is doing it for his own. He wants his 'ducks in a row', and that includes Dean not having an existential crisis. Oh, by the way, make sure you start the next episode right from the beginning (if you haven’t watched it yet). The episode starts earlier than usual which can result in the very beginning being skipped. The very first scenes are Sam and Dean in a bookshop. If you don’t see that, you’ve got to go back.

I'm a perfectionist too, so I also felt a little called out. Dean is my fave, so I'm always a little overprotective of him, but especially in this season. I was super angry the first time I saw this episode lol. He's finally opened up all of two whole times during this season, and now everyone's telling him to stop whining, sending him in to relive his trauma w/ Alastair, and now messing with his mind and essentially manipulating him. It's all extra upsetting because some of it came from (siren-possessed) Sam and otherwise, Sam is sadly not quite there as he usually is. This is all to say that, yes, I think you are spot on about Dean and Zach in that last scene.
