So good...

Brandon Hughes

I fear the end of next week might break her heart to much…

Natasha G

also that one Ruby/Sam scene I feel weird at is mainly due to Gen and Jared being married and it feels a little...like vouyerism, lmfao

Natasha G

also don't want to get into past fandom drama, but REALLY glad you talked about Ruby taking advantage of Sam verses people hating on Sam on reacting to the situation that way. Even back then I don't think it was talked about as much, females being able to take advantage of males-ect

Yeah, I was so happy to see Sesska’s reaction. I felt so sick for Sam during that whole scene; he’s incredibly, ridiculously vulnerable, in absolutely unendurable pain, clearly looking for any way to hurt himself. To punish himself. And even WITH all that; he tries to stop it from happening. Tells her no the instant she even touches him, because he damn well knows how dangerous his state of mind currently is. Shoves her away when she kisses him anyways. Practically runs away to the other side of the room to get away. ANY other moment in his life, it wouldn’t have happened. And even while it was happening, he clearly knew it would just make him feel worse. He fights so damned hard to not give in. But he WANTS to feel worse. Thinks he deserves to. And losing himself in her, chasing that oblivion….it was a need he simply didn’t have the strength to fight. That fact that he knew it, told her no, wanted to stop himself, and just……couldn’t… makes it so much worse. Ruby absolutely took advantage of his extremely sick, damaged emotional state. He really couldn’t have been any clearer that he needed her to not do this to him. That he needed her to stop, because (in that very moment) he wasn’t capable of stopping himself. And she didn’t. She wouldn’t let up. It’s honestly a really disturbing scene. And really disturbing that anyone would put the blame on Sam, when he damned well knew how weak his boundaries were just then. And told her, practically begged her, not to cross them.

Yeah, Jared and Gen are married now, but they weren't when they filmed that scene. They may not even have started dating yet (I know Jared asked her out at some point during the filming of season 4, but not sure how far into the season they were). The cringe factor in that scene is entirely a consent issue because of the unequal power dynamic between them.

Natasha G

that's true! I'm just super big on privacy lol, so a part of me just feels awkward on it! But good point to say they weren't married/dating then, ect

They're also actors. It's something they do for a living. Jared got to kiss a new girl on Walker recently, and Gen is often on set these days.
