Interesting how every reactor is different. Most people have a stronger reaction to this episode - more laughs in the first part, more shock/sadness in the second. For all that you talk about sympathising equally with both brothers, I think you tend to focus very much on Sam and you're losing a bit of the back and forth. Yes, this is a Sam centred episode, but Jensen is playing great comedy opposite Jared and that lifts the first part. And I think if you focus too much on Sam, you actually lose sight of why he's so sad at losing Dean. Terminator!Sam is what Sam could become without Dean to lean on.

sometimes humor hits differently for people. To be fair, I find it a less,a nd less hilarious episode as I rewatch it. The comedy is pretty slapstick in it's own way. Jensen was great for it, but it's not for everyone.

I love this episode. I love Sam. And I love getting to see this show side by side with someone who cares so much. Basically just wanted to say thanks.

Ignore the naysayers, man. I love your balanced reactions. Some people see it from a Deancentric perspective which is unfair to all of the characters and actors. I loveddd this episode because of the fact it highlights the ache in Sam that comes from a domino effect that Dean didn't intend but, yeah, caused. It's really sad, the inevitability. And when you mentioned a piano randomly crashing on Dean, pftttt. I was like weeeeeell... I do think Sam was there for at leasttt a year, tho. But maybe longer-- we have heard some off-screen deaths for Dean as well as attempts to rip apart the mystery spot. That owner must have been regretting purchasing the place real soon haha. I love that you can see the gradual break down in Sam and it's "funny" except not. Can we talk about "Sammy, I get all tingly when you take control like that." Also Sam's mention of the archery range with their server. Sam stealing the old man's keys. All of this tells such a larger story. Again, ignore the people tearing you down, you're doing great, and keep at it. < 3

I just wanted to say how much I enjoys your reactions to Supernatural. I couldn't get enough of you on YouTube. Best decision I ever made. You love the show, you love the boys and your insights into everything are so interesting and and informative. I have to say I always thought this was a pretty dark episode and after what the Trickster did to the guys, especially Sam I was done with this character. Making Sam watch Dean die over and over again was the cruelest thing I ever saw. Poor Dean constantly getting blown away just to make a point, Yikes! Luckily Dean's memory of what was happening to him seemed fuzzy so I suppose that's something. Sam was so lost without Dean and it was hard to watch sweet Sammy just turn to stone. It scares me to think that losing his brother could cause him to lose his humanity. I don't even understand why the Trickster cares. This is a great episode and I am very interested in your thoughts on where this is going.
