Toasted Toad

Yey, we're here! Have been jumping up and down waiting for this one today. Looking forward to watching with you!

Thank you SO much! I honestly feel like you had the most SATISFYING reaction of all SPN reactors-especially with this episode. Actually in all the serious/emotional ones you had the best reactions, and the ones I had when I originally first saw this wonderful show. I was so excited for this part 2 episode as it is by far in my top 10 favorite SPN episodes. And one of my favorite season finales. It felt so emotional, and satisfying! Especially when Dean got to kill yellow eyes. I think I remember freaking out about that just as much as you did-and same for having the similar reaction of John coming out of hell. SO so excited for the rest of the series reactions!

Loved your reaction to this, as I knew I would. JDM coming back followed by Dean killing yellow eyes is one of the best ever moments of the show. If you think the first 2 seasons are emotional, just wait for the next few, wow!

I don’t know if you read these, but; Sam spared Jake last time. And he turned around and stabbed him in the back. And, at this point, Sam already KNOWS something is off, with Dean’s story. He’s already put the pieces together mostly. Sam chose to show mercy. And it cost him a LOT of pain. And I’m fairly sure he was fairly sure at this point that it also cost him his life. Which means he knows that his mercy has probably cost him Dean. I think, at this point, the price of mercy is just too damned high as far as Sam is concerned. He did promise Jake he wouldn’t make the same mistake twice.

Love you, too,.Jess lol

Wonderful reaction! I really like how you don't let your knowledge that there are more seasons to come interfere with your experience too much. I always ignore that and view the scene through the characters' eyes. After all, they don't know that things will be okay, so I feel their pain. Also in SPN, things are not without consequences. We may have Sam back, but there's a big cost - Dean has only a year to live. Dean's chronic lack of self worth is, in a way, one of his most endearing (and yet frustrating) characteristics. We see him as this loving, hot, capable, honourable guy, who has saved I don't know how many lives over the years, including his brother's, and been a substitute parent to Sam. Yet his takeaway from that is that he is not important in himself, just a vehicle to make sure of the safety of other, more important lives (especially Sam). And many viewers see that as being the fault of his dad (although Dean certainly does not see it that way - he worships his father). And I identify a lot with Dean's emotional constipation! He holds everything in until he just explodes. But the way Jensen plays him, we know exactly how he's feeling - he says so much through his facial expressions and body language. Sam is more of an open book. He wears his heart on his sleeve. But does Dean love Sam more than Sam loves him? You could write an essay on it! What we do know is that both brothers know the other incredibly well. Looking forward to watching you watch more of SPN!

There is no doubt Sam loves Dean, and would do ALMOST anything for his brother. But Dean puts Sam above absolutely everything. Possibly to an unhealthy level. It's such an incredibly complex dynamic that is so well written and acted.

Because I am snowed in, bored, and I have OCD I decided to calculate on my computer how many years it'll take for Jess to finish the whole series, lmfao. Keeping on the schedule as now, and twice in December, it turns out that she'll be able to finish in 2026, so lots of SPN content for many, many years!

Oh thank you thats so very kind! I was not expecting John at all! (as you could probably tell lol)

I truly love how the show has taken the time to really flesh out both brothers and what motivates them and who they are. And at the heart of it all, how much they love each other. They show their love in very different ways and I love how the show is slowly exploring that. I, by the way, loved the Season 3 Premiere and it made me fall in love with both of the brothers even more. Can't wait for you to watch the reaction soon!
