This remains the only Bond film i've seen in the cinema, and it's probably my favourite. That's not saying much though, since i'm not a Bond fan =) Also, swedish representation in the form of Izabella Scorupco, who's having a rough time but great lip color? XD

The really neat thing about this one is it now comes off as a clever subversion of Sean Bean’s tendency to die early on, but was actually made before he started doing that all the time.

This still remains not only my favorite Bond film starring my favorite Bond Pierce Brosnan, but my favorite Bond film of them all. I had a feeling you would like Brosnan, albeit perhaps not to the same extent as Dalton as you said. I knew you were going to love Judi Dench as M, she really is the best version of the character. All in all a very wonderful reaction, As to what you said at the beginning of the video, I'm very very sorry to hear you've been going through hard times recently, I really hope that you are able to get better as soon as possible.

"Beg your pardon, forgot to knock" That scene still makes me laugh. Yet another movie where poor Sean Bean dies.

This was the Bond I grew up with. Together with the videogame it just cemented the whole thing for me. But goddaaaamn this movie throws sense out the window. This must be how people feel watching mission impossible movies, fast and the furious or expendables.

I work from home. I have a ton of stuff that I need to be doing. I have minutes of a meeting that I need to compile. Phone calls to make. And now you've uploaded this reaction, and I must watch it! Oh well, everything else can wait until tomorrow :D

Some casting notes: Xenia Onatopp is played by Famke Janssen, perhaps now best known as Jean Grey in the X-Men films (and funnily enough, she also appeared with Patrick Stewart in an episode of Star Trek TNG as a mutant). Valentin Zukovsky is played by Robbie Coltane, who you probably know best as Hagrid from Harry Potter. And Jack Wade is Joe Don Baker, who was the lead star of the '70s cop film Mitchell that served as the experiment in Joel Hodgson's final episode of Mystery Science Theater 3000, plus the main villain of the previous Bond film The Living Daylights (ie the Dalton movie you didn't watch).

Honestly would have loved to see Jess's reaction to TWINE after this - I think it's a bit more of an interesting movie - and the payoff from the final scene would have been worth it... Jess isn't wrong about the car chases though - by the Roger Moore movie we saw, they'd already realised they'd gone as far as they could and did the whole silly motorbike -> Car -> helicopter -> submarine car chase scene. Hence it getting just bonkers by this one.

Such a shame you aren't doing all of Brosnans films. I remember the other two more fondly than this one....and I don't remember as many cringy, sexist chat up lines in the other two as there were in this one!

Dave Ford

Other two? There's three other Brosnan movies. Or has your mind simply decided to block out Die Another Day entirely? Not Eon's greatest hour. As for Cringy lines, the next movie has the best of all time - but it's the only one in the film, and it's the last line of the movie. I'd love Jess to watch TWINE.
