This was a true return to form for Doctor Who this season. I loved it! (To be fair to 12x03, "Spyfall" was a tough act to follow.)

I agree completely about how similar the Queen of the Skithra resembled the Queen of the Racnoss - so much so that I was surprised there wasn't a line from the Doctor about it. Perhaps something was cut for time, or else perhaps they just thought it was a nice Easter Egg for the fans, that these spider / scorpion races may be related. I was also wondering why the Skithra Queen looked so familiar, until I looked at the cast list partway through and saw it was Rani herself, Anjli Mohindra! I had heard she'd be appearing in this season, but had forgotten - nice to see her back in the Whoniverse again. Although it would have been even nicer if she'd been playing Rani!
