I actually did not watch Doctor Who live until 2014. I only discovered Doctor Who in 2014 and I binged season 1-7 and then had to wait for season 8 to come out. So, like you, I did not have time between 7x05 and the Christmas Special ("Snowmen"). I just watched them back to back. And I liked that. It was nice to mourn and be sad as the Doctor is mourning too. I also did not watch Sherlock live. I only got into Sherlock last year and i binged seasons 1-4. So unlike many fans, I did not have to wait 2 years between seasons! So I'm like you in that regard. I like what you said about the kind of companion that the Doctor needs. About Eurus the sister, I thought that was really cool when she was revealed as their sister in 4x02 (I won't say anything about 4x03. I'm only gonna talk about her reveal in 4x02.) That was really cool at the end of that episode. I actually did notice that all three characters were the same actress. I don't know anyone else who did! I'm just super observant and I took a bunch of film classes so I see small things like that. But you are not alone. Everyone I talk to did not notice at all. We're not supposed to have noticed. I knew all three were the same and I knew something would be revealed at some point, but I never would have guessed that she would be their sister! That, I did not predict. I never saw that coming. So that was really cool. She seemed like this crazy master of disguise and I'm always attracted to crazy characters. It made me wonder, what went wrong with her? Why is she so crazy and violent? I couldn't wait to see what would happen next. But I was also pissed off that Moriarty was not in the show. I really thought he would appear in some form by that point because of all these hints. So I was also like, "I don't care about this sister. I wanna see Moriarty again." I didn't like how she took his spotlight away. So those are my thoughts. Hope you enjoy the finale!

I did not notice that Sherlock's sister was the same as the other characters until the reveal. I did not think I was supposed to notice though.

Like you, I also binged all of New Who in 2016. I finished just in time for the 2016 Xmas Special. Season 10 is the first season I ever saw "live!" :D

Note to self: stop making overly complicated question comments. :D I'm really glad you went back and answered the Mycroft one though - I agree with everything you said. He's fascinating. He's cold and calculating, more so than Sherlock, but he also clearly cares about his brother. And I wasn't really happy with Mrs Hudson in that scene either, even though I love her.
