Great video. These are always my favorite videos of yours. I have not been asking questions because I know you always do a great job of talking about the shows and answering questions I would have asked. Since it helps you to have questions I will certainly start asking some.

That's a great critique of GoT - while I am definitely not on the side of Mad Queen Cersei, I am with you on the indifference toward D&Js romance. There are so many other more compelling stories I want to see fleshed out - Hound and Mountain, Hound and Arya, Brianne and Jamie, Arya and her list, Pod and his magic cock, etc. etc. I'm right with you on Tyrion too - the main tragedy of him killing his father is that he doesn't have anyone intelligent to talk to any more - So many plot strands, and who gets to sit on the iron throne, as well, I must admit, the entire ice zombie invasion - have been amongst the least interesting for me too. Enjoy tomorrow's ep of Sherlock - I think you'll love it.

Ahh i love this monthly chat! "Is no one else wondering what Mycroft is like in bed?" Yess girl i wonder too. He just has a way about him... hahaha 😂 And yes the Doctor is so badass when he says, "did the Silurians beg you to stop?" Chills. 😍

"John married a female version of Sherlock" - I laughed. I had to. And yes, I agree. If they're all happy with that, then they'll do that. :P Haha, sorry about the cruel F/M/K choices, but that was a lot of fun. :D "Is no one else curious what he'd be like in the bedroom?" oh my god sess you're like my favorite person right now (also I can reveal that there's definitely a part of the fandom who have considered this question thoroughly, so no, you're not alone). I must have mentioned it before, but Mycroft is definitely my favorite Sherlock character. All these reactions are making me relive my Sherlock fandom days, and it's actually a lot of fun nostalgia (because it also brings me away from what an awful place fandom can turn into sometimes). Me and a couple of friends had 'assigned' characters from Sherlock that we "were", and I was Mycroft. We'd all text each other in character and such. It was silly, but we had fun. The girl who was Sherlock was travelling a lot and she loved to send postcards. She kept adressing the ones to me to "My dear brother" or "Mycroft". Let's just say I got a lot of quizzical looks from my mom when she gathered up the post those days. But we had so much fun. That tangent aside, I'm so glad you love Mycroft. We need more people. I was SO HAPPY that you loved the dinosaurs and sassy robots so much. It was a hilarious reaction to watch. Also, I don't think I've ever seen you that excited about an upcoming Doctor Who episode. That was amazing, and now I'm really REALLY looking forward to next week. I remember looking forward to that one for my own reasons, because an actor I liked was going to be in it, but it'll be fun revisiting it with you. And those were all good actor choices! :D Glad you liked the question, and your answer was great. It's a very broad question after all, difficult to narrow down.

I don’t think I’m spoiling anything—rather I am preparing you—to say that the 12th Doctor is written as VERY anti-military in the next season. It is written as a prejudice, mind you, you can tell it is offensive to others and the writers are not saying he is right to hold this bias. Plus, they DO have sympathetic military characters in the episodes, too. But I feel bad that this is going to both hurt you as well as color your feelings for Capaldi, especially since you love Matt Smith so much. I feel that by the end of series 8, the Doctor learns to respect some military folk and for good reason, so I hope that you hold on. I also think Capaldi may grow on you in seasons 9 and 10. I know some Smith fans who admit that they find Capaldi lovely and sympathetic now. I think he’s grand, and he’s my favorite doctor. I think what we like about you (since at the end of you video you wonder what we like so much about you) is that you are honest and vulnerable in your reactions. That makes you fresh and fun to watch. You are not phony (trying to please your viewers) and we all appreciate that, even if you don’t like what we like, or hate what people think you “should” hate. Plus you have a good personality for video. Personable and conversational. And watching “with” you it kind of like watching with a friend. When you got teary at the end of the last Harry Potter, I did, too, though I’ve seen the movie a gazillion times and thought the book version of the scene was more touching. You made it fresh for me, again. And I think we viewers can sort of feel your feelings through the computer. It can be an almost empathetic experience. I don’t have a YouTube log in and I’m not on Twitter, but I have watched you for some time now. I can’t remember the first Doctor Who reaction I watched of yours. I know SCHOOL REUNION was one of the first (perhaps the first) because I love Elisabeth Sladen and I was so glad you found her charming from the get-go. That made me want to watch other reactions, because if you could recognize the specialness of Sarah Jane Smith from your first viewing, I felt you would be a perceptive “reactor.” I watched your Downton reactions around the same time (and I can’t remember which reactions I watched first, Downton or Doctor Who). But I LOVED those, especially when Robert got sick at the dinner (it had been a traumatizing scene for me) and when Thomas tried to do himself in, etc. I really loved those reactions because your reactions were so visceral: screaming, crying. I watched them with my sister (who’s a bigger Downton fan than me) and we both enjoyed them very much. It was kind of like watching the episodes for the first time again. Maybe that’s why we like to watch reactors. It kind of brings us back to the magic of the first time. I got chills watching your reaction to Snape’s killing of Dumbledore. Never thought I’d feel chills about that scene again, as I am so familiar with the story now (I reread the entire book series again THIS summer –I did last summer, too.) Since the books have so much more detail, I often get frustrated with the movies, finding them to be rather more like shorthand or summaries in comparison. But since you haven’t read the books, it’s all new to you and you can appreciate the movies more than I and it helps me to appreciate them more, too, which is a feeling that I enjoy, so thanks for that. So yeah, when I saw on YouTube that you were going to watch Harry Potter on Patreon I immediately signed up for that. I was like, “YUP! I’d pay to watch her watch THAT! No brainer!” And you’ve made the first of every month a day to look forward to! Thanks, again, Jess.
