I doesn't matter to me, but technically, looking at the episode guide at wikipedia, the christmas specials are considered to be episode 0 (or "-") of the coming season. I'm sure that only matters to the DW production team.

The next special is actually listed as part of S7 so I'd go with the S6 review first (the Specials are confusing to group admittedly)

I would say watch it before the review, as otherwise next season will have two christmas specials...

Does that really matter tho? One is the 2011 special, and the other is the 2012 special.

s6 is 99.9% done, the Christmas special just finishes off this season ever so slightly. Plus I love it! x

I think the Night and the Doctor mini episodes, especially those with The Doctor and River, are more integral to season 6 than the Christmas special, but I'm really not that bothered whether the Christmas special is watched first or not as it's fairly standalone and should have no impact on the season 6 review.

It might well have three since arguably the 2013 special fits better with the next season than the one after (although I guess we'll be having that discussion later this year).

Next season *does* have two though, according to the Complete Series Seven Boxset.

Glad you loved series 6, Sesska! One of my favourite seasons. A bit off topic but when you finish series 7 you should probably watch 'An Adventure in Space and Time', as it was part of the 50th anniversary celebrations and gives a great inside look into the creation of the show. Also your next episode is technically part of series 7, it's even counted as series 7 in the box set. Would like to see your review first but it won't matter either way.
