i adore the meta episodes. This one in particular, is one of my top 5 episodes. It is such a beautiful love letter to the fans

As a hardcore fan, I absolutely adore these meta episodes. Even when they gently poke fun at fans like myself (I'm an unabashed Destiel shipper and have written my fair share of fan fiction stories based on all that "subtext"). Based on the interactions I've had, I know many other fans love these meta episodes. I think causal fans who weren't aware of the fandom (at the time this originally aired) were confused by a lot of the references, but it's an enjoyable episode, regardless. (That final number where they sing Carry On Wayward Son still brings a tear to my eye. It was beautifully done).
