Hey everyone

I thought a lot about how to make progress reports in these development updates much more tangible. I think I already mentioned it in one of my previous posts. For now, my idea is that each week I'll make a post here with some numbers that are easy to see and follow. I'll put the format below with actual numbers. The format is subject to change in the future, but I think it will be good enough for now.

Since we are using that new project management tool, we have tasks now we can count. You will see a lot of incomplete tasks, but keep in mind tasks vary in size. Meaning some tasks require very little time to complete, while others could take days or weeks. You will also see the total number of tasks increasing, as we add more things to the "To Do List".

On my end, the rendering workflow is on-going and the render counts will keep ramping up as I'm finishing some of the core tasks that require a lot of my time. The hardest part of this massive update is 90% done now, which was planning all the events, the modifications, the new systems and how they would fit together.

We have completed our new event handler system. Since we are adding so much new content and basically revamping the gameplay, this needed to be done. With this new event handler the work to implement scenes into the gameplay and the gallery/scene replay will be much, much faster. Easily cuts time required by 80% which will speed up the overall release process.

Each of the main girls will have 13-15 new activities in the sandbox in the 0.17 update. They will each have various "levels" to them - as you progress and get more Affection Points, you will unlock more of those levels. You will get Affection Points by doing these activities, among other things. (And the activities will be pretty hot, so no grinding needed.)
On average, 8-10 levels for these activities. Depending on the activity and level, these range from mini-scenes to scenes comparable to regular story scenes. If you do some quick math, that might give you an idea about the scope of this update. Then there are the side characters... I'll leave it at that for now.
Currently I'm working on scenes for Joyce. Preview images will be in separate posts from now on.

Now one more thing: We are hiring!

We are hiring a writer for the team. We are looking for someone who can write good and witty dialogue, has professional writing experience and can show us some of their previous works.
English has to be their first language, preferably someone from the US.
If the description fits you and you want to join the team, join our Discord server at https://discord.gg/lewdlab and send a DM to Risael.

Last time we were in need of programmers, posting it to Patreon helped and we managed to hire 2 people. Hopefully we'll find our new team member soon.

Now here are the initial stats. These don't include tasks that have been already completed before we started using the project management tool. I will update this next week.

  • Total Number of Tasks: 144
  • Incomplete Tasks: 125
  • Completed Tasks: 19
  • New Tasks added this week: N/A
  • Render Count: 194
  • Animation Count: 0

Once we hit 0 incomplete tasks the release will be ready. None of the "release when" type of questions will be answered otherwise than with this.

I know it's taking a long time. This is also an update many times the size of a regular one, including a whole redesign of the flow of the gameplay, among a LOT of other things. So, bear with us, please. It will be worth it.

That's all for now and I hope I managed to give you guys some insight with this post.

And as always, huge thanks for all your support!
-Dr Sin

Trying to be patient but it is difficult. I understand what you are trying to accomplish is a lot of work, and you are pretty much rebuilding a new game. You've hired two new people to help, which is great. At that time if I were you, I would have gotten my new guys and myself and spent the first few weeks getting a release finished even if it was small and using old content if need be just to give the supporters some eye candy, as we call it in my business. Something to keep the customer content even if there is little substance. It then buys you time and you don't have to come up with excuses or get a bunch of grief for not having anything done for the money the customer is paying. I have a friend who worked as a finish Carpenter and he used a tape recorder to record he and his two employees working for two hours, hammers hammering saws cutting, them talking, etc... and every once in a while when he was on a job and wasn't able to actually do any work or not a whole day worth, he would turn on his radio with the tape recorder and it was two hours of sounds of guys working and he would be working on something detailed that didn't make noise but he wanted to have the customer think there was more work taking place so it seemed like he was getting his money's worth of labor. That is ear candy. Same as eye candy with my work. That's what I would have done if I was you. I would have given us some eye candy in a small but satisfactory release to keep the customers happy and then you would have bought yourself more time without feeling guilty for taking more time and you then kick some computer game building ass for the next month or two and get that new bad ass release out

Thanks for the update and making it easier to keep track of the progress.

I know it takes ages to make each update I appreciate it but I really hope the next update is lengthy! I hate small updates and then waiting ages till the next one as I forget what the hell is going on in the story. This is one of my favourite AVN's!

Who are you to come off and tell me what I should or shouldn't say in response to another couple or six months of patiently waiting for some real content? A couple photo renderings may satisfy you but, I've had this discussion with Dr. Sin before, on this public messaging and privately between he and I only. I may not be paying the highest tier but I'm a few up from the bottom tier and I've been supporting this endeavour for at least close to three years or maybe longer. It seems that your idea of "eye candy" and mine are not the same. Getting a message every three months, telling supporters that there is no new content and won't be for another undetermined amount of time, isn't eye candy in my opinion. Oh but here are a couple computer graphic renders that should make you feel better for your money that you're giving month after month to see new additional game play on a regular reasonable amount of time but never actually happens on any consistent amount of time. The only consistency is not being consistent, at all. But you feel that you are getting what you are paying for? You find it totaly reasonable and acceptable to hear excuses every message we get? I couldn't do that to my clients/customers with a clear conscious. Also, I don't think Dr. Sin needs you White Knighting for him. Frankly it makes you look like fanboyish.

Thanks for the update! Can't wait!

Honestly, will it be worth re-starting or are all the game play changes in the update / new chapter material?

Keep up the hard work. Your games are the best hands down
