Kilna moths are a very shy and axious species that loves to stay hidden most of the time.

Kilnas only come out at night and sleep or read most of the day. Usually they can be found around quiet places like cathedrals, libraries or even graveyards where they hide as long as the sun shines.

Kilnas can’t stand bright lights and are easily distracted by them, which is a huge problem if they live in cities with busy nightlives. In full moon nights, Kilnas are also magically drawn towards empty plazas or quiet glades where they gather and dance in a trance.

Some Merrans believe that a Kilna in “Moon-trance” is able to predict the future and that a person that whitnessed a so called “moon-charade” is blessed with luck for the next 7 weeks.

Kilnas are generally accepted in all of the Merran cities, set aside that they are very rarely seen anyways. Due to their ability to fly silently, Kilnas had also established a reputation of being great nocturnal messengers.

During mating season, female Kilnas are drawn towards fabrics of all kinds. Their metabolism turns the consumed fibers into unfertilized eggs, which they are constantly excreting from their abdomen. The placed clusters are then fertilized by the rather feminine males.

A transformation into a Kilna is very rare due to their shy and anxious nature. It is triggered through dust gathered from their wings and blown into the victims face.

The victim of a Kilna-transformation always keeps its original gender.
