Lorthass guards (Patreon)

The Lorthass usually live pretty isolated and prefer great ocean-caves and coasts as a habitat. Even if they are not called one of Merras "sapient" species, Lorthass are also no monster-race either.

Unlike the Lyran tribes, Lorthass even welcome travelers and adventurers in their cities and are not known for an agressive transformation-behavior.

All Lorthass have a long proboscis instead of a tongue, that is usually hidden inside a slit, which is covered behind a chitinous mask. Most merrans believe, that this proboscs is also their main-tool to transform victims, but the proces had never been really discribed yet.

Lorthass give birth to a massive amount of eggs during a month (The bigger Lorthass-Cows even produce up to 10 kg each week) The so called Lorthass Kaviar is a speciality, especially the Bolgans love (and Skirrans hate, since it is very salty)

With the proboscis also hidden behind the mask most of the time, Lorthass are really hard to understand whenever they try to speak. Their wet and gurgling accent often amuses Ketoran or Necran merchants which are very skilled in language. (The accent also often makes Skirrans laugh because it sounds a bit like farting, which is the main reason most merchants do not bring Skirrans to a negotiation  ٩(◉ᴥ◉)۶ )
