Katherine continued to compare herself against things around the house for a while longer before getting hungry. When she checked the time, it was almost time for Jack to return home. She made something to eat for herself first, knowing she still had a couple of hours before Jack would be there. Once Katherine finished eating and it was a little closer to Jack’s return, she started dinner for him. When Jack arrived home, he called for Katherine and followed the smell to the kitchen, only to be stopped by a confusing sight.
