Weekly Recap (Patreon)
Content
Sorry guys, my new office is still WIP so cannot make video this week.
However here is a write up of the weekly progress.
Let's get started.
Lindbergh Emulation improvements
Finally we got Ghost Squad Evo in playable state but without the sound.
This game was a complete nightmare, the biggest issue was OS compatibility as stack was misaligned in the main thread, had to write customized code to get it aligned correctly.
Also it uses separate audio lib (not segaapi) to produce sound. We have an idea how we could emulate this but it takes some time.
Also I managed to enable card readers that are not even accessible in Lindbergh version normally as they were removed (due to cost savings?).
However the code still exists and I am pretty sure we can write an emulator for the cards at some point.
Also House of the Dead EX finally boots but crashes after the boot screen, this is due to sound emulation missing as well.
Wiki and TeknoParrotUi game profile updates
Lot of xml and titles in wiki have been updated by RuFo_ThE_oNe, Thanks!
Star Wars Gas axis now functions properly with normal analogs.
Last game played option now functions again as well, great.
OpenParrot Improvements
OpenParrot now reports if the game executable you are trying to run is not compatible with OpenParrot, this removes any confusion that people have sometimes with bad dumps/exes.
RingEdge2 Improvements
Nezarn ran some internal tests with our amLib emulator and managed to boot KanColle and Code of Joker. However these games use very specialized hardware and are not much of a use currently.
Namco ES3 Progress
We inspected recent dump of Lost Land Adventure. We have managed to emulate entire I/O already and the gun i/o partially. It takes some more time to finish it, but should be there soon.
NESiCA improvements
The team is also working on improving NESiCA compatibility rate, so we could boot 100% of the games.
Until next week, thanks you all :)
