Sometimes I see someone on the web that I immediately would want to paint. With contemporary beauty I don't anymore, most of the time that is. Some exceptions to my own rule, but increasingly rare. It's not as much fun anymore, generated a lot of requests that I usually could not do, and with all the AI imagery it feels like it's getting more like a DIY thing too, so my efforts seem rather superfluous.  I follow some classic profiles that post vintage beauty though, with the likes of icons like Bettie Page, Betty Brosmer, Marilyn Monroe and Lauren Bacall, just to name a few, and ms. Lauretta Luez came by recently. Never heard of her and you won't find much with Google, so she was not a huge star, but her face and poise was quite striking and most inspiring. For me at least. She wouldn't mind that I painted her, I'm sure, as it was a huge compliment in those days when an artist took the time to paint someone, but I tried to keep it a classic tribute anyway. Just for the fun of it.

There's this Movie you need to check out then, Frans: THE INDIAN TOMB (1959)--in it, she does a DANCE which "Charms" a KING COBRA (trust me, it must be SEEN to be BELIEVED.).
