I got an Apple notification that I could install a new system on my machine. I didn’t get those notifications before and assumed I wouldn’t get them if my mac wouldn’t be able to handle it. So wrong!!. What was I thinking?

Without delay or much thought I backed up more recent finals and went for it. Of course it did not work. It did not warn me, so I thought it went well, but now it does not start up. There’s no startup disk anymore apparently And apple support is mot available over the weekend. Of course…

It’s been a really long time since I did something this stupid. It actually may be the very first time. Awful!

So sorry to hear of your issue. Having had a few games trashed because some unforseen 'Upgrade' came through and changed/erased/etc things (I'm looking at you Fallout 76 and your destruction of standard Fallout 4 games) I do feel for you.

Hope you are all ok and get everything sorted!

That's what also happened to my hard drive at the end of November. My IT guy tried to extract my data with the equipment he had and said my drive spun out. I have it in a protective bag and gonna see if I can have Best Buy retrieve the data (some of my most recent music compositions are on that drive). It's gonna be expensive, but I need them. This Windows 11 Update probably zapped more than a few computers.

Good luck Hope all works out for you

Thanks! I’m almost completely back on track and the newer version of my main tool, Photoshop, actually does most things a lot better even though I often can’t find them as quick, because they moved them
