Artistically for me, the point of doing series is to get to stuff I did not do before. It used to take a series of sketches to achieve that, but nowadays the sketches go beyond the rough scribbles and doodles so the series often get to be true series with different moods and settings and rendered properly. Even the rough ideas turn out pretty well for me. That took a lot of practice and time but that flow I try to get in generates beautiful scenes sometimes.

Here's one of the more unusual ideas that I would not have tried several years ago but I am very happy with now. It's October, so Halloween is a good inspiration and even though I really, really, like the pinup witches I do around this time (I would not do them otherwise), I love the darker witches as well. This one will definitely not be as popular as the more friendly witchy beauties, but I still need to do what I see before me and, when it works, it makes me happy nonetheless.

Fabulous image. She’s beautiful, despite her scary hands. I know she’s a witch, but I get the impression of a Native American priestess, a female Diablaro. I probably watch too many episodes of Kolchak: The Night Stalker.
