I posted this a couple of years ago, found it again recently and decided to adapt it to instagram format. Because it was a portrait format the feet got cropped off on Instagram when I first posted it ( That profile got deleted and I still don't know why, by the way. But it does allow me to repost a whole lot of stuff).

I'm not a fetishist of any kind, I like the image to show as I intended and it was a full body painting like I like to do a lot. Not a full body painting only without feet.
Besides, the credit bar fell off too.
As you may know, if you followed me elsewhere, I like to paint the whole woman. I do crops as well but I prefer the complete figure. I like it all and painting it as a convincing whole is massive fun.

So, I just had to add a bit of canvas and paint on some more background. But...as so often when I revisit older pictures, I couldn't just leave it at that. Noooo... I just had to work on almost everything else. Except for the shoes and the bed. They still worked pretty well :)

No picture is ever really finished. One has to move on at some point and abandon a picture (preferably only when it's really presentable) when one creates it for practise. For commissions it's slightly different.
Then paintings get either really finished or much closer to it. If the budget is adequate, that is. A big part of the challenge.
The older a picture like this is, the more I'll work on it when revisited. Must be because I have picked up skills even in just a couple of years and I like to apply that whenever I can.
Nice to know that I'm still not on some autopilot because that might well be the death of creativity.

I consider this a new painting now. It's just better all around. But I have to look at it in a couple of years to see if it's really finished. How's that for an insight in an artist's mind?
