i think she bit off the top of the lipstick then spit it into her bag since she can't afford to actually buy it. that's why she stuck with sieun, so she won't get caught. but in south korea, there's an increased issue of kids running away from home (they typically have abusive or neglectful parents) then joining runaway "families" of other teens where they live together in a small room for shelter. and some times, the way they work is under a "mom" or "dad" that is or has connections with a gangster such as this so they end up stuck in a life of organized crime with no real escape since they're homeless minors. in severe cases, they can get caught up in trafficking rings and get forced into prostitution even as adolescents. it's just sad that the law is so easy on punishing minors for their crimes but doesn't actually protect them.
