Here we are with the third of this round of Vibe Checks. 

I'll be honest, I legitimately can't tell if The Rise of Uzumaki is one of my more popular Patreon stories or one of my least popular. That might be because Naruto is such a big fandom while The Rise of Uzumaki has slowly tapered off in terms of enjoyability however.

Admittedly, The Rise of Uzumaki was, for a long time, just a bunch of smutty harem antics with no real plot or stakes to it. Only recently have I begun mixing in some plot alongside the smut, and I THINK I've done well there, but I can't say for certain.

Naruto is another setting I don't currently have any particularly amazing ideas for, so if you want me to wrap up The Rise of Uzumaki and replace it with something else, I only ask that you throw an idea or two my way if you have any.

As always, any and all feedback about either The Rise of Uzumaki or a future Naruto fic that might replace it is greatly appreciated. Having a conversation with you guys about the state of my Patreon Stories is something I feel I should do more often.

Yeah, I really don’t know what to do with Naruto. I guess you could try some smaller stories and see if any are a hit? Like "What if 4th Hokage/Kushina survived the night of Naruto’s birth", Sasuke centric story with Naruko, OC genin with Satsuki and Naruko etc

Maybe try a different angle, and go with someone like Zabuza instead? It's always Naruto that, and Naruto this. Sometimes it's Sasuke or Kakashi. But outside of those, anything else is rare. I wouldn't mind Jiraiya's only story. Where he shows his prowess as a proper Super Pervert. May be something random, like finding a secret Jutsu that increases the libido of any female he performs it on.

Man I really don't what you could replace it with. The problem is Naruto has mass appeal, tons of ladies to work with, and plenty of fanfic that works well with the story. I would suggest Overlord as a different series to write about, although I did say before that that would probably just end up being the same story but with sex. Which wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing although that series story is kind like The Grimm Prince, dark lord not sure how to take over the world. It's a tough call 😕

How about a thrown back in time (maybe also alternate universe which might allow for a broader creative range) Naruto for some juicy future milf action. But above all else, make the chapters longer by a bit please, TRoU was suffering from some pretty short and rather empty chapters, which turned me off rather unexpectedly hard, despite it being one of my fav randoms along with Harry Potter. I mean voting for the path is nice and all, but also inputing some of your more creative mumbo jumbo ping-ponging in your head that we liked about MNL and BO will help. Like inserting a mystery choice every now and then sprinkled with what you know we always like: a God damn dominating and fucking everything fuckable around into the ground straight to the 4th layer of hell. My long winded point is more mystery or keep the choices more vague and more creative input from you, longer chapters even if you need a bit longer. I'd rather wait more for better quality any time, any day. We love you either way, but maybe some tweaks of the old formats are in order to keep it fresh.

I can accept the 'rather empty' bit, but the chapters of TRoU have been the same length as all my Patreon Exclusives, which is around 2500ish words. I don't think that would change, though I can see how maybe the content of the chapters could be beefed up a bit more. I like the idea of a Time Travel Naruto fic possibly...

Jiraiya would be fun, I'm just not sure it would attract a wider audience. I don't even know what I would do with a Zabuza story lol

...Kind of swimming against the grain here by voting to stay... For what it's worth, if I were gonna pitch a *Naruto* story that wasn't just "Rise of Uzumaki 2.0," I would probably suggest an AU story, where rather than the traditional *Naruto* setting, things're in more of a sleek, urban fantasy, *Taimanin*-esque cyberpunk ninja direction, with the Villages replaced by secretive hidden ninja clans working against supernatural evil and human malfeasance from the shadows, but also getting into scuffles with each other because that's what ninjas do. ...Coincidentally, this may be the premise of my own failed attempts at story-writing in the past, though sans the *Naruto* element... Anyway, could work whether you want to put them all in ninja school or have them start out as operatives already.

Zabuza did want to become Mizukage and reform his village. So his story would presumably be him going around and lewding various ladies to build up support/allies so he can outmanuver Mei, and kill Yagura, which would be the natural endpoint of the series. Honestly, Zabuza Mizukage sounds fun, and I can't remember a story that did that.

Yeah it would probably be more cyberpunk or modern ninja than Taimanin, with a sort of 'gentleman's agreement' among the ninja clan where winners have their way with the losers and everyone gets to go home intact afterward or something. If that was the way I decided to go with it

Honestly, I get it. But sometimes, it's weirdly hard to track why it feels like that, it just does. Maybe it's perhaps a bit too long pondering the next choices, maybe it's consecutive choices that regard the plot and not the "plot". Maybe a multi choice poll going for a week with a few reminders would give you some data on what people like on average. It's funny, TRoU on paper was perfect for me, Naruto, D/s, harem, hardcore and breeding. Same for PP, sometimes it feels just slightly off, I'd personally wish for him to be more assertive and leverage more of his power and consequences of it, it feels to me at timeslike he's acting out of fear instead of caution. Not a native English speaker, dunno how to exactly describe it. Never engaged in these sort of things in all my time here tbh, I almost always prefer lurking. Maybe it's just that I'm starting to like more suspense lately.

maybe have a story where naruto was raised by one of the other ninja villages (maybe Kumogakure). another one is where the third shinobi war never ended and Uzushiogakure was never destroyed so naruto is raised by the Uzumaki Clan. maybe naruto is born from a marriage between the two villages to secure an alliance (so his father can still be the fourth Hokage).

I appreciate the feedback greatly all the same, and I think I sort of get what you're saying. I think I was trying a thing where I gave more agency and initiative to the other characters in the stories, but I might have overcompensated and taken away too much of Naruto and Harry's agency and initiative, leaving them feeling less assertive or w/e

Maybe I’m just weird, but I always thought it wouldn’t be that hard to make a version of Taimanin without all the rape, not least because Taimanin itself generally has to resort to some truly crappy writing to justify all the rape in the first place.

It wouldn't be hard necessarily, but it wouldn't be Taimanin anymore imo. There's not much about Taimanin that isn't just a vehicle for monsters raping sexy ninja girls lol.

I'm not saying that Modern Ninjas wouldn't be fun or worth reading to be clear. I'm just saying it would kind of be "Taimanin without the Taimanin". Taimanin is literally synonymous with rape porn, or so I always thought. Has there ever been a Taimanin property that wasn't rape porn? Maybe it's just my experiences coloring my opinions lol.

From what I’ve heard, RPGX had some of that, but was in general a much more traditional harem-y experience. And as someone playing Action, while the writers are clearly still unused to the idea of the characters actually succeeding, it works without it altogether.

maybe expanding rise of Naruto uzumaki to crossover settings to include chicks from another fandom possibly and patrons can vote on which fandoms they want.

That feels like close to the target. Not all of it was bad tho, Naruto going to Tsunade for dealing with Danzo felt great for example. Thanks for taking my opinion into consideration. I felt like a AU/Time travel combo felt the best being relatively fresh, leaving enough creative freedom. ...... Alright, fuck it! Here's my idea that I only need a small loan of a million dollars to make a reality. Think Naruto getting sent back 20-30 years in the past in a universe where the Warring Clans Era never got abolished aka maximum conquering shenanigans for maximum harem with a side of a heapload of creative freedom in both setup and possible paths (for example, would the Uzumaki go extinct?). Just writing this got me so damn hyped, I've read a handfull of similar stories that each was amazing due to author breathing room, best rated one was a fem!Madara.

Honestly I’m still really into this in it’s current form. If I had to see this replaced I’d suggest maybe being an OC rogue nin so we could see ladies from other villages and movies. Other than that most of the best ideas I’ve seen tossed out don’t seem more engaging than what’s already here especially as we get closer to bigger plot points.

Yeah the popularity thing is definitely the issue. Well reading through some of the other comments, I did see that Jiraiya idea that could be interesting. I know NidoranDuran wrote maybe one or two chapters of something like that. Although what the story would be beyond him being a pervert I'm just not sure.

I'm a big fan and I'd be part of the minority that'd be sad if it went away. My favourite arc had to do with finding and rescuing Sasuko and then eventually getting into her pants. If I had to pick something to move forward from TRoU, I'd really like to see a more expanded story that focuses on their relationship from being rivals to basically where they are now in TRoU, but idk how well that would translate into these type of stories. Only thing coming to my head is an actual VN style choose your own adventure where we vote on choices to get the "true end" and try really hard not to get bad ended for jokes.

Only instead of Fem!Naruto's name being Naruko, have it be something different then the naming scheme of a literal 12 YO. Like, Natsumi, Kasumi, shit like that. I despise how the Fandom ran with Naruko and use that name instead of coming up with something actually Feminine Sounding like they got around to with Sasuke when someone came up with Satsuki and more often then not drop a Naruko story then not. TLDR; if you go with this idea, come up with a different name then Naruko.
