Alright, this post will be a good news and bad news type of thing... for most people. For some it might be bad news and bad news.

First off, the (hopefully) good news!

As of today, with the conclusion of The Grimm Prince, I'm finally ready to move my Story Poll schedule from biweekly to weekly. This means I'll be posting a chapter of each of the six remaining Story Polls once a week instead of once every two weeks going forward!

The new schedule will look like this for the foreseeable future:

Sunday: The XXX-Gene (Marvel)

Monday: The Sun Reborn (Cyberpunk 2077) / Coming of Age (Percy Jackson)

Tuesday: The Grimoire's Chosen (Worm)

Wednesday: Lightning Strikes Twice (Harry Potter)

Thursday: Endless Legacy (DC Comics)

Technically, while the diversity of stories is dropping, this will actually be more weekly Story Poll content than ever before, since I'm doubling up on Mondays.

That said, I do want to give myself some wiggle room, so I'm going to be considering this an experiment that will run for at least the rest of 2024. If for some reason it's not working out for me when 2025 rolls around, I might switch it up in some way, we'll see.

Second off, the unfortunate bad news regarding the Untitled System Project that I posted two and a half weeks ago. Put bluntly... its dead Jim.

When I wrote and posted the first chapter like I did, I hoped one of two things would happen. Either I would get pretty much zero interest in it, and happily move on since it wasn't something anyone actually wanted to see OR I would get so much interest in it and that would motivate me to figure out what to do with it going forward.

Well, neither of those things happened. Probably should have seen it coming, but instead what happened is you guys overwhelmingly expressed interest in it, only for the idea to die on the vine for me within another day or so.

To be clear, I have a ton of ideas I play around with in my head that never see the light of day. Dozens upon dozens that I might flirt with for a day, or two days, or even weeks but I ultimately decide they aren't something I want to or am capable of writing.

This idea turned out to be one of those ideas, but it broke out of containment before I could take it out back and Old Yeller it. So I apologize for getting people's hopes up, but I also wanted to say something so that people didn't keep expecting something that wasn't ever going to crystallize.

At this point I'd put it at less than a 1% chance I ever continue that project, unfortunately.

As for what my actual next Free Write Project will be, I still don't know. Been toying around with some ideas, but I'm not going to make the same mistake of getting anyone's hopes up. Right now I've just started diving into Black Myth: Wukong and thats soaking up a lot of my free time, so a Free Write isn't likely to materialize any time soon. Unless I rage quit Wukong, which might happen, boy am I bad at vidya games.

Reject reality, return to Monke!

Damn, that is bad news 😞. However it is overwhelming good news so we still thrive 🫡. Definitely want to play Wukong, I just really like him as a character is various mediums.

Can't wait

RanmaChaos

Bummer, but better to put the idea to rest than write something that your heart isnt really into.

It be interesting to see you write up a story in a different universe. Which universe? That I'm not sure about, you can explore that. But if you're wanting to a fill a story slot then maybe go with a different story universe this time.

I really like the Cyberpunk story atm, especially after the Marvel story

I'm gonna say this is your fault for saying Wukong and triggering the cascade failure in my brain that led to this idea for a Free Wrote: Dragon Ball/Z/Super story but with most of the characters Rule 63ed like in your Peter Parker's New Groove, or Flux Casey's Scumbag Hero Academia. Extra Credit if you make the main character Yamcha.
